Frequently asked questions

How does Palworld breeding work?

Every Pal has a hidden breeding power value. The baby is the Pal whose breeding power is closest to the average of the two parents — unless the pair is one of the special combinations, which always produces a fixed baby.

Does the parents' gender change the baby?

You need one male and one female, but which parent is male does not change the baby — with one famous exception: a male Katress with a female Wixen gives Wixen Noct, while a female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis.

What happens if I breed two of the same Pal?

Two parents of the same species always produce that same species — this is also the only way to breed legendary Pals like Jetragon or Frostallion.

Is this calculator up to date?

Yes — it uses the Palworld 1.0 breeding power values for all 297 breedable Pals and all 161 special combinations. Older guides used a different scale, so their numbers differ.
