Frequently asked questions

How does stat extraction work?

Every creature stat follows the ARK wiki's Creature Stats Calculation: post-tame value = (base × (1 + wild points × per-point increase) × taming-bonus adjustments). Health gets a small additive bonus (+0.07 for most species), Melee gets both an additive and a taming-effectiveness multiplier, and imprinting adds up to +20% to every stat except Stamina and Oxygen. This calculator runs the formula backwards for every possible point count and reports the one that matches the stat on your screen.

Why don't the points add up to the creature's level?

A creature's level is 1 + the points in all SEVEN stats, but Movement Speed points cannot be seen on a stat screen — wild creatures put a share of their points there. The calculator shows how many points the six readable stats account for and how many remain for Speed (plus any mismatch). It also only works before you spend domestic levels: once you level a stat yourself, extraction is no longer exact, the same limit ARK Smart Breeding has.

Which creatures are covered?

10 of the most-bred species — Rex, Giganotosaurus, Therizinosaur, Argentavis, Thylacoleo, Spino, Yutyrannus, Daeodon, Managarmr and Snow Owl — with base stats and per-point increases cross-checked on the ARK wiki, wikily.gg and Dododex. Watch the flagged species notes: a tamed Giganotosaurus loses 63,000 Health flat (already included), and Daeodon and Managarmr Food points can read slightly low because of an extra in-game food taming multiplier that is not modelled.

How many points make a stat worth breeding?

As a rule of thumb used by breeders: 30+ points in a stat is excellent, 35+ is exceptional and worth keeping as a breeding parent, 20–29 is solid, and under 10 is a stat to breed out. What matters is combining the best Health and Melee (for fighters) or Weight (for haulers) from both parents into one line.
